Just another drone

That's it...there is no turning back now. I've got a full time job, I'm paying rent, buying groceries, cleaning and doing washing. Damn it, adulthood is here. Sighhhhhhh...

And now that it is here, there is one thing that thrills me as if I was a kiddie again. Wonder what it is? Well, it seems rather small in comparison to all the adult things. Like the scales of adulthood outweigh little childish pleasures but I gleefully DO NOT set my alarm to wake up on the weekends. Yes, I look at it and think: "Ha ha, I do not have to put you on tonight."

It's both pathetic and empowering. But hey, it makes me smile all weekend.

Congratulations on the job. That becoming an adult thing only hurts for a little while. Hey don't ever give up the childish pleasures. It is all part of not getting old.

That's awesome knowing that you have been liberated from an alarm clock. Only crap thing is waking up earlier than you would have wanted to.

I am glad that you are loving the UK.

your post reminds me of the 'video killed the radio star' analogy because these days cell phones have killed the alarm clock

turning off alarm clocks now, twenty years at the game and it takes things like streaking through public places to loose that adult thing.
good luck :) enjoy the weekends while you can.

but isn't it so liberating to be so in control?

there are freedoms which come with a job. just don't get stuck in the working rut

congrats on the job!

not being crushed by the weight of time isn't little at all. sleeping in occasionally is the best!

it's tough at first - giving up sleep to a job. but after a while, you get used to it. and realise that grown-up life, by default, is less sleep and more living.

but hey, no use fighting it. just imagine your sleep once you have kids ;)

(but to add something positive, it IS very cool when u can just let go and sleep as long as u want...defeating the enemy alarm clock is a sweet victory :)
