Home

Anyone who has read my previous post would know what an agonising January it has been. Nevertheless decisions have been made. In a few months time I will be in SA again. Not because I cannot cope without S.O, but simply because I do not want to be without him. And London may even be in our future. You just never know what lies in store.
And then I seen the above pic on post secret this week. Ta da! Thank you Universe!

Woa! Seeing that signboard would have blown my mind :)
If it feels right go for it!
And hey, if it all goes bad or pear shaped you can go back or go somewhere else - very little is ever cast in stone.
Anyway, we are having such Brit like weather at the moment you wont even feel like you left London - hee hee

I moved to London on whim and took 18 years to leave it. Love the place but you just know when it is time to go. Good luck chick

Aww, that's a tough choice indeed. But your heart will guide you to the right decision. Wanted to meet up when I was there but no time. Are you staying with Sumaya & are friends with Shakira?

Yap! :).The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another human being with whom one's relationship has a glowing depth, beauty, and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing, it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of Divine accident. All the best.

lol...yeah we can sit around the fireplace with our knitting needles and tell the "kids" all our stories :P

Speaking of which, I'm going on a mini holiday, British Airways flies out on the 13th June. I'm not getting a Visa though, so I expect to be back in SA on the 14th :D
I hope that exemption lasts...

just oen day in london azra? do i understand correctly? but i will be back in sa by then.

lol lol no silly billy :)

I'll be there from the 13th for three weeks...I'm hoping that they allow me in the country without a visa, (because I'm not going to apply for one since those who have been to London before have temporary exemption)..I'm just hoping they let me in the country or else I'll be deported back to SA the next day :)

Prixie said...

ah of course. sorry, its one of those days actually. well, i dont think visitors from SA require a visa jsut yet. at least when S.O came he did not need anything

It's a new rule that will take effect from the 3rd of March 2009. Every South African will now be required to obtain a Visa when visiting the UK or transiting the UK...which means that if you're flying to the UK, regardless of whether you're visiting or not (maybe you're en route to another destination), you'll still have to obtain a visa first. Visas are roughly between R660 and R990.00, depending if its a transitory or visitation visa.

The exception is that if you have travelled to the UK before and you have a stamp in your current passport to prove it, you will have temporary exemption and won't be required to get a visa. But the exemption expires at the end of June (so I hear)...and then after that, every single SA citizen will require a visa.

oh rubbish! they making it so hard for us to come here! boo hoo!

oh girl tell me about it, I was so pissed off when I found out, especially since London is like home to me...but the SA government is to blame, they had from August last year to rectify a few kinks in their systems but of course, everyone sits on their asses and no one works in government so time ran out, and the UK decided to impose this on us now. Now the rest of us ahve to suffer for their incompetencies, especially those who have family there.

Ironically, countries like Botswana and Namibia passed their UK examinations, so they dont require any Visas.

damn these useless fatcats in teh "government"! my heart bleeds!
